"Straight Talk for the New Public Speaker"
addresses a fresh simplistic down to earth uncomplicated approach
providing the required elements of becoming a successful public speaker.
Dale Simmons' book is wonderful! Its chock full of
straight talk which completely addresses those of us who are considering Public
Speaking on a grander level. Perfectly packaged without a lot of frills and
nonsense. I met Dale personally and he was super kind and immensely helpful
& knowledgeable about a lot of subjects -- no wonder he's a public speaker!
This one's a keeper.
Straight Talk for the New Public
Speaker
I am not a public speaker in the true sense, just
your average person that gets called upon to speak on occasion, generally from
business meetings to retirement ceremonies. "Straight Talk for the New Public
Speaker" is just the key to jumpstart your speaking career. Dale's message and
suggestions can be applied to any size audience in any venue.
Most of us
are a little apprehensive before speaking, but this book is loaded with
suggestions that help lessen and eliminate one of the biggest factors in
speaking, fear. Generally I know my material cold but come off nervous because I
wonder what will go wrong. Preparation is the key to reducing the anxiety
factor. If you are prepared you won't have to wonder what will go wrong and you
will have a successful experience.
The information in this book sets you
on the right path. I now have a game plan to follow whenever I am called upon to
speak. Thanks Dale.
Unfortunately, your name was not either used or
somehow did not get posted. Anyway, thank you for your kind words and I'm happy
my book gives you the information you were looking for.
Best of Luck in
your future speaking engagements.

I read your book recently and even though I don't plan
on taking up public speaking as a career, I have been asked to give
presentations at my work. I have always talked my way out of doing
those because of my fear of getting up in front of people. After
reading your book and especially Chapter 3, I have come to realize your
definition of fear was right on and I know by applying the information
offered in your book, I know I will be able to do well with
presentations at my work. I'm going to talk with my boss and find out
if I can give those presentations they have wanted me to do.
Thank you for opening my eyes on the real problem and
giving me the tools to overcome this obstacle I placed on myself. I
enjoyed you “Straight Talk” approach and humor throughout
your book. I hope you are in my area someday giving one of your
seminars as I would really like to meet you and I know you must be a
lot of fun in your seminars.
Thanks again
Bill Martin
